Obituary: Doris E. Domann

Doris E. Domann, 96, a resident of The Charleston House in Beaver Dam passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015.

Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until 11 AM at the church, immediately prior to the service. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Doris was born the daughter of Ernst and Bertha (Schmidt) Oschmann on March 20, 1919 in Watertown, Wisconsin. She was married to Merlin Domann on March 5, 1938 in Beaver Dam. Over the years, Doris was employed with the Weyenberg Shoe Company, Mr. Steak, Kolb’s Flower Shop and the Dog-N-Suds. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam where she served as a member of the Mission Aid. She loved gardening and flowers and was an avid bowler.

Doris is survived by her loving family: son,  Jack (Mary) Domann,  Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Lindeman, Beaver Dam, Rachel Domann, Beaver Dam, and Stephanie (Christopher) Zimmerman, Madison; nine great-granchildren, Alex, Adam and Tierney Jo Lindeman; and Jacob, Caleb, Cassandra, Callissa, Camiah and Aaron Zimmerman; three sisters, Patricia Leverenz, FL, Genevieve Schanen, Beaver Dam and Loretta Eckert, Watertown; one brother, Willard Oschmann, Ashippun; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin in 2009, infant daughter, Judy, her parents, five sisters: Ardelle  Sellnow, Irene Strauss, Florence Butor,  Doretta Romig, Anna Mae Baumann and three brothers: Martin Oschmann, Arnold Oschmann and Ernst  Oschmann Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen’s Window Fund.

The family extends a special thank you to the nursing staff at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and the caregiver staff at The Charleston House.
